  • Microsoft - technician issue



    I have a new hp computer with Windows8 in operation about a week. I downloaded my email, Skype, etc.. Everything works fine. On line I bought Office Home and Students 2013. I followed the installation process and when there was an option I selected Run and Save. Software didn't want to install. I called 1-866-724-8856 for help. I was talking to the technician. I allowed him to go on my computer. I don't remember his name because it was very anusual name.   • Annoying, aggravating, etc Vista



    I just bought a Laptop with Vista. This was a blessing in disguise. The Vista part that is. After having all those annoying pop-ups, Having to have administration rights for this and that, the Word processor telling me everytime that I only have 20, etc times to use it and on and on and on. Well, I had enough. I went to Virtualbox.org and downloaded their free software. Downloaded and installed Ubuntu 8.10, which is the tested version, and I am as happy as a lark. Don't worry about messing up anything. The Ubuntu is not installed on the internal HD but inside the software Virtual box.... More...
