Dell Hell and Microsoft Rip Off - Dell and Microsoft

I made the gross miscalculation of purchasing Microsoft Office 2013 Home and Student version from Dell. (I didn't want to spend big bucks.) I asked Dell two questions: 1. IS THE SOFTWARE ON DISK? 2. THIS IS NOT A YEARLY LICENSE IS IT? I was assured yes, it is on disk and is a permanent license.

When it arrived, I learned NEITHER of those conditions were met. No disk; a key card and download site. Trying to install this garbage was also problematic; it would NOT accept the license key. I called Dell and someone did a shared session and if finally installed. However, when I re-booted the machine -- no video driver. The Windows 7 repair mode kicked in and repaired the problem -- and deleted the installation. Wonderful! I have to go through all this aggravation again!

I called Dell back and confronted them with their obvious deception about the product and that in fact, the download itself was bad -- probably infected. Hence, the loss of the video driver. He uttered he had "never heard of this before." Ergo: I'm lying. I said, yes, I know! I've been working with PC's for over 2 years and even still sometimes work as a technician -- a Microsoft CERTIFIED technician some years back....and kid, if I tell you it happened,it HAPPENED. Then I got passed back and forth from tech support to customer service four or five times until I finally blew my stack. (stack overflow error).

A supervisor set up a refund -- but failed to send me the UPS return label. So, I had to call AGAIN. Now I'm told they 'can't do that.' I said, yes, you can as you have done on at least one prior occasion and you'd better if you want to avoid me reporting this to the BBB and FTC. IT was picked up yesterday. I imagine I'll still get screwed out of the $130. I paid for this nightmare.

There's also another thing about this software -- YOU don't own it. There is no setup file that downloads, only a stub that takes you to their download server. If you ever have to install it again, yep, gotta download it again. Also, all the templates must be downloaded, too. You have to apparently sign in every time you use it. No thank you, Big Brother Microsoft. I don't need you looking over my shoulder every time I write a letter -- or review your poor excuse for software.
